Hi, my name is Derek! 

I created Write Together, a co-working and marketing training program for solopreneurs.

I've spoken to dozens of small business owners with similar challenges in growing their businesses.

So I’ve taken my 20+ years of experience working in newsrooms and brand management (as well as my experience teaching journalism to college students) to create a program specially designed for businesses that can’t afford to hire an agency to run their marketing strategy.

My storytelling experience runs the gamut from newspapers and magazines to television documentaries, but my specialty is digital.

I've worked with clients across various industries, but I specialize in helping solopreneurs and small businesses in service-based industries like coaches, consultants, advisors, and trainers.

I approach marketing with a customer-first mentality, marrying journalistic storytelling with audience data to create effective campaigns.

When I'm not teaching or helping business owners, I manage my son's youth soccer team, which keeps me busy. But I also find a little time for fun activities like attending concerts; playing board games and role-playing games; and strength training, running and doing indoor spin.
